Five additional charges laid against Surrey RCMP officer Corporal Peter Leckie

Surrey RCMP informed that that five additional charges have been laid in an ongoing investigation against RCMP officer Corporal Peter Leckie.
It was alleged that Leckie used his position as a police officer to obtain information and contact members of the public for the purpose of engaging in intimate relationships with women both on and off duty.
Earlier this year the BC Prosecution Service had approved charges of breach of trust and fraud against Corporal Leckie, in connection with allegations of misconduct involving three individuals between January 2014 and October 2020.
“These are disturbing allegations of breach of trust and fraud involving one of our police officers,” said Assistant Commissioner Brian Edwards, Officer in Charge of the Surrey RCMP.
Three additional counts of breach of trust, one additional count obtaining computer services by fraud and one count of sexual assault were laid on November 23, 2022. The additional charges are in relation to allegations of misconduct between January 2014 and December 2021.
Corporal Peter Leckie has a scheduled court appearance in relation to the new charges December 14, 2022.
