BATHINDA AND PATHANKOT GIRLS SELECTED FOR PRE-COMMISSION TRAINING AT OFFICERS TRAINING ACADEMY, CHENNAI

Cabinet Minister Aman Arora wishes both Lady Cadets of Mai Bhago AFPI the best for bright future in Defence Services

 Adding yet another feather in the cap of Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) for Girls, SAS Nagar (Mohali), two lady cadets of the institute have been selected for Pre-Commission Training at the premier Officers Training Academy in Chennai. The training of selected Lady Cadets Arshdeep Kaur Sidhu and Lady Cadet Palvi Rajput will be commenced from October, 2023 onwards.

 Arshdeep Kaur Sidhu is daughter of Bathinda based Mr. Harwinder Singh Sidhu, who is a government employee with the Military Engineering Service, while, Palvi Rajput belongs to Pathankot and her father Mr. Ravinder Singh is a proud farmer.

Congratulating both the Lady Cadets for their achievement, Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Mr Aman Arora said that the Mai Bhago AFPI has been transforming girls of Punjab into ‘Women of Substance’. Undoubtedly, the institute is the Pride of Punjab, which has been helping the girls from Punjab to become commissioned officers in the Armed Forces, he added.

Under the commitment of the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann towards adding wings to the aspirations of girls from the State to serve the nation, Punjab Government has recently has taken ‘Path Breaking’ step by approving an NDA Preparatory Wing for Girls at Mai Bhago AFPI, which has already commenced training from July 2, 2023 onwards.

Expressing delight over the selection of these two lady cadets, the Director of Mai Bhago AFPI Major General Jasbir Singh Sandhu, AVSM (Retd.) said that with this result, so far 28 Lady Cadets of the institute have joined various Armed Forces Training Academies. He also extended his best wishes to these lady cadets for a bright future ahead in defence services.
