Congress leader Pawan Khera even remembered Mani Shankar Aiyar’s old statement about PM Modi and said Ma Saraswati sits on his tongue.

leader Pawan Khera on Friday said he is still shocked by PM Modi’s speech that he delivered in the Rajya Sabha packed with stinging attacks on the Congress. “Frankly, I’m still shocked that the man who is at the end of his second term as Prime Minister still talks in the kind of language which puts the country to shame. No, this cannot be the new normal,” Congress leader Pawan Khera tweeted as he also remembered what Congress veteran Mani Shakar Aiyar once told about PM Modi.
In his 90-minute speech in Parliament amid loud chants demanding PM Modi’s reply to the Adani questions.
“…if Nehru ji’s name is left out by us, we would correct our mistake as he was the first prime minister of the country. But I do not understand why anyone from his clan is afraid of keeping Nehru surname? Is there any shame in having the Nehru surname? What is the shame? When the family is not ready to accept such a great personality, why do you keep questioning us,” PM Modi said.
The Adani crisis has remained the key issue of Parliament this session with the opposition leaders raising questions and the government dismissing them. Several portions of the speeches made by Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge implying a link between the embattled business conglomerate and PM Modi have been expunged.
“In his long rant yesterday, PM blamed UPA for cash-for-query scam when in fact 6 of 11 involved were BJP MPs. It’s BJP that walked out during vote to expel the MPs, after resolutions moved by Pranab-da & Dr. Singh. Would the Chair now expunge PM’s lies?” Jairam Ramesh said.
As PM Modi continued his speech amid heavy sloganeering, BJP leaders on social media shared one clip from the statement praising PM Modi where he said, “The country is watching that one person (leader) is proving too much for so many (Ek akela kitno ko bhari pad raha hai). Even to chant slogans, they have to switch (in turns). I have been responding to their voices for over an hour in one voice.”
