Edmonton (Times Bureau) Consul General Manish was warmly welcomed by community leaders at the premises of Alberta Hindi Parishad during his visit on 19 August. Alberta Hindi Parishad was started by pioneers in the community to cater to the need for providing Hindi language teaching to younger diaspora children born in Canada. During visit of Mr Manish Consul General, he met and interacted with office bearers and teachers and of the Parishad and parents.
Consul General was briefed about the work and achievements of the Parishad. Consul General appreciated the efforts of the Parishad in promoting and propagating Hindi and Indian culture, specially among young generation, in Edmonton and offered continued support in providing books and teaching material of Hindi, jointly organizing events to promote Hindi and other Indian languages etc. He also took tour of the classroom. Consul General gifted a set of Hindi text books to the Parishad received from Government of India for the use of students . In this short and appreciable event among the prominent persons Mr k K Gupta , Krishan Chawla , Virendra Bhatnagar , Rohit Sati , Amit Aery , Mr Puneet Manchanda president of CISE , Mr Rajiv Ranjan , Ashok Gupta , Gunjan Sharma and Charu Ranjan was present in this event .
